The Canadian Philosophical Association was founded in 1958 to promote philosophical scholarship and education across Canada, and to represent the interests of the profession in public forums. The 2020 conference will take place at Congress alongside meetings of learned societies representing many sub-disciplines of philosophy and other disciplines of interest to philosophers. Every area of philosophy is represented, with several hundred philosophers attending from across the globe. The Canadian Journal of Philosophy sponsors a plenary keynote given by a distinguished philosopher. Child care is available and the Association is committed to the accessibility of its Annual Meeting. Partial subsidies of travel costs are available to students and underemployed philosophers.
